It's Ribadiso to Volunteer Since we are not able to thru-hike this year, we were wondering about our options. However early in the year, I received an email from the American Pilgrims on the Camino organization . They were seeking volunteers to support the municipal albergue in Ribadiso. We discussed it at length, and came to the conclusion, that offering moral support to pilgrims would be a challenging way to be on the Camino de Santiago. We filled out an application, and had an interesting conversation with APOC staff about what it means and requires to be a volunteer at the albergue in Ribadiso. Shortly thereafter we were notified of being accepted into the program. Next up we planned our time in Spain. We thought to spend 8 days prior to reporting to Ribadiso, and because of the caledar, to head back to the USA as soon as we finished our stint.
