Ribadiso Albergue : Day 15
Ribadiso Albergue : Day 15
Meaningful Moment
After yesterday's hurricane of check-ins, today is much much more tranquil and much more peaceful to be working here.
I can also say it has now become slightly boring, sitting outside the reception area and waiting.
I can blog, I can read, I can watch, and I can talk to people as they walk by. I've met some interesting people today.
But I think what I'd really like to do, is take a nap.

Random Thought of the Day
Given that we had close to 60 pilgrims spend the night at the albergue, I have this fear of a lot of cleanup first thing in the morning. But I'll know very soon as I roll out of our apartment to go down and turn on the lights in the pilgrim rooms. ... It's the next morning and there was a lot more work because we had an entirely additional building to add to the cleanup, but it wasn't too bad. A lot of what is expected from a usual day, just more of it.
Deb and I went shopping this morning in Arzúa to buy food supplies for us, and some cookies for sharing with arriving pilgrims.
So today most of the pilgrims have been Italian or Portuguese and a smattering of others, including four Basque people, one German woman and one Irishman. Very few have been Spanish.
Just met two young men from Spain who arrived here from the Camino Primitivo. It's very interesting to me that a fair percentage of the pilgrims here have taken the more rural, more tranquil, more mountainous Camino Primitivo rather than being on the Camino Francés.
Met a young German woman and we were talking. Went to English pretty fast because her English was really good anf my German is really not good.
But in our conversation I found out that she's from the very town in the far north of Germany (Schleswig-Holstein) where I started my Camino Via Jutlandica last year. So I had to talk a little bit about I enjoyed her town of Flensburg which I really enjoyed visiting.
Notable memories
Deb and I helped an Italian couple, who did not speak Spanish, with arrangements for a room for tomorrow night.Technically, we we're not able to get them a room reserved, because where they are headed, everything is booked, but I did meet an Irishman who told me about a place where he made a reservation.
I was able to pass that information back to the Italian couple.
They have some decisions to make about whether to implement the plan but that's on them, but we gave them the important information.
