Ribadiso Albergue : Day 23
Ribadiso Albergue : Day 23
Meaningful Moment
There may be something more significant later today, but we started on opening with only five pilgrims. Haven't seen such a low number like that, possibly since we started working here.
It's now 7:00 p.m. and there's only 10 pilgrims here. It is incredibly boring.
9:30 p.m. Deb and I said our goodbyes to Elena, one of our two bosses. It's been a pleasure to work with her. Her style contrasts greatly with our other boss, Jose. We say goodbye to him tomorrow.

Random Thought of the Day
The albergue at 7:00 a.m.
I just finished turning on all the lights to rouse the pilgrims to begin their next day on the Camino.
Notable memories
While cleaning, I realized that my favorite churros shop in town is closed tomorrow because it's the rest day.So although we had not planned on walking into town today, we need to do the 2 mi up and 2 miles back so that I can get some churros. Because this particular shop has really great churros, and I just can't be certain, that I'm going to get the same high quality with some random choice of a churrería in Madrid.
Anyway, tomorrow besides cleaning the compound, we're going to be busy cleaning the apartment and getting it ready for the next volunteers who arrive just before noon.
Deb and I get to sleep two more nights in the apartment, and then Sunday morning at 7:30, we're in a taxi and headed to the airport in Santiago for our flight to Madrid.
My favorite churros place. They included coffees, fresh orange juice, pieces of cake, melted chocolate and churros. Lots of sugar there LOL

One more look around the Albergue de Ribadiso de Baixo
Put my feet in the water several times because I know it's coming to an end here.
