Random Thought of the Day

Since we are planning on going into town this afternoon for a local Fiesta, we felt no need to get up early and get through the cleaning because we won't be trying to get to town this morning.
We slept in until 8:00 a.m. and took our time with the cleaning. Done by 10:15 a.m. And now we get to chill until the gates open at 1:00 p.m. to welcome today's Pilgrims.

I'm sitting at Meson Ribadiso chilling, while Deb is in the apartment relaxing.

It's a quiet day at the albergue. I imagine most are starting at the 100 km point, and we are the 40 km point, which means we will see them on Wednesday or Thursday.

Change of plans. We just learned that some of the festival happens at the recreation area just down the road. So we're going to skip going into town which is a 2-mile walk runway and just go to the recreation area later this afternoon. Actually makes it an easier day and we can spend all of Sunday essentially chilling out.

The combination of Blue Sky and white clouds over the albergue is beautiful today.

Notable memories

Para ser peregrinoSung to the tune of La Bamba
Las botas y el camino
Para ser peregrino, para ser peregrino
Se necesita unas buenas botas
Unas buenas botas y andar y andar
Por sendas y desvíos, por sendas y desvíos
Caminaré, caminaré, caminaré...¡Peregrino, peregrino, peregrino!
The Boots and the Path
To be a pilgrim, to be a pilgrim
You need a good pair of boots
A good pair of boots, and to walk and walk
Along paths and byways, along paths and byways
I will walk, I will walk, I will walk...
Pilgrim, pilgrim, pilgrim!
Las ampollas y el botiquín
Para curar ampollas, para curar ampollas
Se necesita un poco de aguja
Un poco de aguja e hilo dental
Y mucho Betadine, y mucho Betadine
Y el Ibuprofeno, Ibuprofeno, Ibuprofeno...¡Peregrino, peregrino, peregrino!:
Blisters and the First Aid Kit
To treat blisters, to treat blisters
You need a needle
A needle and some dental floss
And plenty of Betadine, plenty of Betadine
And Ibuprofen, Ibuprofen, Ibuprofen ...
Pilgrim, pilgrim, pilgrim!
Hostel snoring
To sleep at night, to sleep at night You need good earplugs
Good silicone earplugs Because in hostels, because in hostels
People snore, people snore, like trucks ... Pilgrim, pilgrim, pilgrim!
El final de la etapa
Yo no soy turista, yo no soy turista
Soy peregrino, soy peregrino
Que busca el vino y el menú del día
Y al llegar a Santiago, y al llegar a Santiago
¡Qué gran alegría, qué gran alegría, qué alegría!
¡Bamba, bamba, peregrino!:
The end of the stage
I am not a tourist, I am not a tourist
I am a pilgrim, I am a pilgrim Seeking the wine and the daily set menu
And upon reaching Santiago, and upon reaching Santiago
What great joy, what great joy, what joy!
Bamba, bamba, pilgrim!
